Literature in Our Lives

Some of what we're reading/listening to/studying:

On The Day I was born by Debbie Chocolate

97 Things to do Before You Finish High School by Steven Jenkins and Erika Stalder

Diablerie by Walter Mosley

My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult (audiobook)

Another Audiobook completed

We've finally finished up Book 2 of the Genesis of Shannara Trilogy. I am looking forward to Book 3. Imagine my dismay when I went to the author's webpage and found out that the 3rd book - The Gypsy Morph is not expected until August of this year. Luckily we have two other audiobooks here to listen to during family listening time. We started My Sister's Keeper and so far it sounds like it will be good.

What Do You Really Want?

We started reading "What Do You Really Want?" by Beverly K. Bachel. So far so good, it was written as a teen guide but I would recommend it to anyone who needs to set goals in their life. She goes into detail for each item in her book but I wanted to share with you her Top 10 List (Why Goals Are Worth Having)

1. They help you be who you want to be
2. They stretch your comfort zone
3. They boost your confidence
4. They give your life purpose
5. They help you rely on yourself
6. They encourage you to trust your decisions
7. They help you turn the impossible into the possible
8. They prove that you can make a difference
9. They improve your outlook on life
10. They lead to feelings of satisfaction

Progress with the Left Behind Series

Today we concluded the 4th part of this series "Soul Harvest: The World Takes Sides". This is actually where we stopped the first time we listened to it so I'm really looking forward to the next installment. We're still using audiobooks to complete this so I'm hoping the libraries will have it available.
